Renko charts are price based charts which are independent of time. Renko charts originated in Japan and the name comes from the Japanese word, Renga meaning Brick. Renko charts are distinct because of the ‘bricks’ or blocks that are used to represent price. The most accurate Renko charts are based on tick data, but due to limitations, most Renko charts are based off M1 time frame. You can of course use your own custom time frame as the base charts.
